Mark Carter- President (Founder)
Founder and President of Carter Distribution, boasts over twenty years of expertise spanning LTL and Parcel logistics, as well as domestic and international freight forwarding.
During his twelve-year tenure managing key accounts at FedEx, Mark honed his skills in contract negotiations. His dedication to practical and effective solutions inspired the development of order fulfillment services tailored for e-commerce and retail clients.
Mark’s innovative spirit is underscored by two patents: one in temperature-controlled packaging and another in temperature-controlled shipping software.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mark is an avid aviation enthusiast and holds dual pilot ratings. He pursued Aviation Management at Utah Valley University. In his leisure time, Mark indulges in flying, hiking, and cherishing moments with his wife and six children.
John Banks- Partner
John Banks brings over 25 years of extensive logistics expertise, with a unique perspective from roles on both the shipper and 3PL provider sides.
He spent 9 years as a General Manager at MSAS/Exel/DHL Global Forwarding, specializing in international freight forwarding.
Following this, John served 6 years as a Director of Transportation for an international shipper, overseeing relationships with global 3PL providers.
With over a decade managing fulfillment and transportation services, encompassing small parcel and domestic logistics, John leverages his dual-sided experience to adeptly meet client needs and drive operational excellence.
Kirk Hansen- Executive Director
Kirk is excited about the bright future ahead and am deeply committed to supporting the vision of building a best-in-class 3PL Supply Chain organization, to support the future growth of Carter Distribution, in structure, scale, and in elevating our current and future customers 3PL experience through value-add solutions.
Prior to joining Carter Distribution, I have 40+ years’ of Leadership experience with full P&L and Operational responsibility, Supply Chain & Logistics, Distribution & Transportation, with big box over site, C-Store & Petroleum, Natural & Organics Company Wide Operational over site for company & 3PL DC’s. Known as a strategic thinker and dynamic leader, I communicate effectively and build trust at all organizational levels. A visionary “people person,” I engender loyalty with both internal and external customers as well as strategic business partners.
We have a cumulation of about 95 years between Kirk, John, and I in logistics and warehousing. If you go by square feet managed, we are more than 5 million cumulative sqf. We have managed dozes of facilities. We have shipped over 3 million orders since we opened our doors.
